Drain Pump Assembly
The centrifugal pump utilizes a mechanical face seal that is susceptible to degradation from chemical surfactants and particulate abrasion. When the seal fails, water bypasses the impeller shaft and exits the pump housing at its lowest point. This is the most common source of liquid pooling directly beneath the cabinet base in LG top-load units.

Wash Tub Hub and Seal Kit
The hub assembly provides the water-tight interface between the rotating drive shaft and the static outer tub. Mechanical stress from unbalanced loads can cause eccentric wear on the elastomeric seal, allowing gravitational bypass. Once compromised, water migrates down the drive shaft and drips from the rotor/stator assembly located at the bottom of the machine.

Water Inlet Valve Assembly
Internal pressure spikes or freezing can cause hairline fractures in the valve's polymer manifold. While the valve is located at the top-rear, leaking water often adheres to the outer tub's exterior surface due to surface tension. It then tracks downward and accumulates on the floor, frequently being misdiagnosed as a bottom-sourced leak.
