Gas Valve Solenoid Coil Kit

The gas valve solenoids use electromagnetic induction to actuate the internal valve plunger. Over time, the copper windings within the coils suffer from thermal degradation, increasing electrical resistance and preventing the magnetic field from overcoming the valve's internal return spring. This results in an audible 'clicking' sound as the plunger partially engages or immediately drops back, preventing gas flow even if the igniter is functioning correctly.

Dryer Flame Sensor

The flame sensor is a radiant heat-sensitive switch that completes the circuit to the gas valve once the igniter reaches a specific temperature. If the internal bimetal strip is fouled or fatigued, it may cycle rapidly or fail to maintain continuity, causing the gas valve to 'chatter' or click repeatedly as the circuit opens and closes prematurely.

Gas Surface Igniter

While the igniter is a solid-state resistive component, microscopic fractures in the silicon carbide or nitride material can cause electrical arcing. This arcing can produce a clicking or snapping sound and prevents the component from reaching the high-intensity heat required to trigger the flame sensor, stalling the ignition sequence.
