Safety Thermostat (High Limit Cut-Out)

This bimetallic safety switch is designed to interrupt power to the heating circuit during an over-temp event. If the internal contact remains in an open state due to mechanical fatigue or a previous high-heat cycle (such as 'Self-Clean'), the heating elements will never receive current, preventing the oven from reaching the 150°F threshold within the required 5-minute window.

Oven Temperature Sensor (Thermistor)

The control board relies on a specific resistance-to-temperature mapping from this NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor. If the internal ceramic element is compromised or has drifted out of its calibrated resistance range, the board will fail to detect the actual temperature rise, erroneously triggering the F9 timeout code.
