Ice Maker Fan Motor
Error code 22E is triggered when the main control board detects that the icemaker fan motor is not spinning or is spinning outside of its calibrated RPM range. This usually occurs due to moisture ingress into the motor bearings or a failure of the feedback circuit (Hall sensor) within the motor assembly. Replacing this DC fan restores the necessary airflow to the icemaker assembly and clears the communication fault.

Main Power Control Board
If the fan motor is replaced and the error persists, the drive circuit on the main PCB responsible for interpreting the pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal from the fan may be damaged. This board manages the logic for all thermal and mechanical operations within the unit.

Internal Wire Harness
In rare instances, corrosion at the connector pins or a break in the signal wire within the door hinge or cabinet wall can prevent the feedback loop from reaching the control board, simulating a fan failure.
