Drum Support Roller Assembly

The drum support rollers allow the drum to rotate freely on a set of shafts. Over time, the internal lubrication of the roller's bearing or bushing dries out, leading to high-pitched metal-on-metal friction or squeaking as the drum rotates. Replacing the rollers resolves the noise and prevents potential damage to the drum's drive motor.

Dryer Idler Pulley

The idler pulley maintains tension on the drive belt. If the bearing inside the pulley fails or seizes, it creates a constant high-pitched squeal while the motor is running. This is the second most likely mechanical failure mode for squeaking in this LG model line.

Dryer Drum Drive Belt

While less common for squeaking than rollers, a worn or glazed belt can slip against the motor pulley under heavy loads, creating a momentary or sustained squealing sound during the start of a cycle.
