iComfort S30 Smart Hub

The Smart Hub serves as the central processing unit and power distributor for the S30 system. Failure of the internal DC-DC converter or the communication bus controller prevents the hub from sending the necessary voltage to the wall-mounted display, resulting in a total loss of the user interface. This component is the primary failure point for 'no-power' symptoms when the rest of the HVAC system has 24VAC supply.

Mag-Mount HD Display

The display unit is a thin-client terminal; failure of the integrated backlight inverter or the LCD ribbon cable connector (often due to thermal expansion/contraction cycles) will result in a blank screen while the system continues to operate in the background. If the mobile application can still control the temperature, the mechanical failure is isolated to this display module.

Condensate Float Switch

This is a safety mechanism designed to break the 24VAC power circuit (R-wire) when the primary drain pan overflows. When the switch is triggered by water accumulation, it physically disconnects power to the entire thermostat system, including the Smart Hub, causing the screen to go blank instantly to protect the home from water damage.
