Brake squeal on these heavy-duty cargo e-bikes is caused by high-frequency harmonic resonance between the rotor and the pad friction material. When the caliper is slightly out of alignment (the 'Adjustment' symptom), it causes uneven pressure distribution, leading to surface glazing and 'chatter' during deceleration. Replacing the pads with fresh semi-metallic material is the only reliable way to restore the friction coefficient and eliminate the established vibration frequency.

This tool is a precision shim that fits over the rotor to ensure the caliper pistons are perfectly centered during the mounting process.
