Folding Frame Latch Hinge Pin
The folding mechanism utilizes a hardened steel pin press-fit into the aluminum frame to serve as a pivot for the locking latch. Due to the hardness differential between the steel and the aluminum, vibration can cause the pin to enlarge the bore and lose its interference fit. Replacing the pin or the entire latch hardware assembly is required to restore the pivot's mechanical integrity and prevent the latch from detaching from the frame.
