AquaPiston Canister Seal

The silicone seal at the base of the canister is the primary point of failure for the AquaPiston system. Over time, chemical exposure causes the material to swell or develop surface irregularities, breaking the watertight interface between the canister and the flush valve seat. This allows a continuous, low-volume leak into the bowl, which triggers the fill valve to cycle or run constantly to maintain tank head pressure.

Toilet Fill Valve Assembly

If the water level in the tank is high enough to enter the overflow tube, the fill valve has suffered a mechanical or hydraulic failure. This is often caused by sediment lodging in the pilot valve's diaphragm orifice or the degradation of the internal seal, preventing the valve from achieving a positive shut-off once the float reachers the target buoyancy level.

Trip Lever and Chain Kit

Mechanical binding of the trip lever arm or excessive tension in the lift chain can prevent the canister from returning to its fully closed position. This 'ghost flushing' or constant running occurs because the canister remains suspended a fraction of an inch above the valve seat, allowing water to bypass the seal via gravity.
