Drain Tube and Grommet Kit

The original 'duckbill' style drain grommet is prone to sticking closed due to material degradation and debris accumulation. When the defrost cycle occurs, condensate cannot exit the evaporator tray and eventually overflows the internal trough, leaking into the food compartment or freezer floor. The updated P-trap kit eliminates the duckbill interface to prevent surface-tension-induced blockages.

Water Filter Head and Housing

The internal plastic manifold within the filter head can develop hairline stress fractures over time due to water hammer effects or thermal cycling. This results in a localized leak within the fresh food compartment near the filter port. If water is observed dripping from the filter area even when not dispensing, the structural integrity of the housing has likely failed.

Water Inlet Valve Assembly

The dual-solenoid water valve uses a rubber diaphragm that can lose its elasticity or become obstructed by sediment. This prevents the valve from seating fully after a dispensing cycle, leading to a slow, constant leak at the rear of the unit or a steady drip from the internal water dispenser nozzle. Mechanical failure of the solenoid spring can also result in intermittent weeping.
