Lid Lock Switch Assembly

This component contains both the solenoid that drives the locking pin and the micro-switch that confirms closure. Flashing occurs when the solenoid fails to actuate or the contacts inside the switch have oxidized, preventing the logic signal from returning to the control board. Replacing the assembly restores the electromechanical feedback loop required for cycle initiation.

Washing Machine Lid Strike

The lid strike is the polymer 'hook' that enters the lock assembly; if it is chipped, warped, or misaligned by even 2mm, the lock bolt will fail to seat properly. This mechanical interference prevents the lock from reaching the fully engaged position, causing the control board to abort the sequence and flash the status LED.

Drive Actuator

On the 110 VMW platform, the lid lock will often flash if the machine cannot verify the position of the drive pulley. If the actuator fails to shift the cam into the correct position for the spin/agitate transition, the system may inhibit the lid lock as a secondary safety measure, resulting in a flashing light even if the lock itself is functional.
