Igniter Kit Replacement

The 'Check Igniter' fault is triggered when the control board senses a break in the electrical continuity of the igniter circuit. The silicon nitride element often develops hairline cracks from thermal stress, resulting in an open circuit. Replacing the igniter restores the necessary resistance and heat required for the gas-air mixture to combust.

Ignition Control Module (Fenwal)

If the igniter itself tests positive for continuity (approx. 40-75 ohms), the failure usually lies in the control board's inability to send 120V to the igniter. This component manages the ignition sequence and safety timings; a faulty relay on this board will prevent the igniter from glowing, resulting in the same fault code.

Igniter Gasket and Hardware Kit

A compromised seal at the igniter entry point can lead to moisture intrusion or heat escape, which may prematurely degrade the igniter terminals or wiring. While usually included in the main kit, a separate replacement ensures the combustion chamber remains sealed against corrosive pool environment gases.
