This high-tension extension spring is the primary counterweight mechanism for the fabricated deck. Over time, the hook ends undergo stress-corrosion cracking and cyclic fatigue, leading to a sudden snap that renders the foot pedal lift assist non-functional.

Deck Lift Spring Eyebolt

The eyebolt (or J-bolt) acts as the adjustable anchor for the assist spring. Under the high constant tension required to balance a 61-inch deck, the threads can strip or the eyelet can shear, causing the spring to detach even if the spring itself is intact.

Deck Lift Linkage Bushing Kit

Worn or seized bushings in the lift pivot points increase friction within the lifting assembly. This mechanical resistance mimics a failing assist spring by making the deck height adjustment difficult and putting additional strain on the spring hooks.
