Internal Hall Effect Sensor / Lid Sensor Board

This sensor detects the lid position using magnets. In the Omen 16 chassis, this component or its cable is prone to signal interference or thermal failure due to its proximity to the cooling system, causing the laptop to rapidly toggle the display power as if the lid were being closed and opened.

eDP Display Cable

The 144Hz/165Hz high-bandwidth video signal is sensitive to EMI and physical wear. Frequent opening and closing of the laptop hinge can cause micro-fractures in the copper traces of the eDP cable, leading to sync loss and visible screen flickering.

Replacement LED LCD Panel

If the flickering persists after cable inspection, the T-Con (Timing Controller) board integrated into the LCD panel itself has likely failed. This is common in high-refresh-rate gaming panels subjected to consistent thermal stress from the GPU exhaust.
