Shift Control Motor Assembly

The shift motor utilizes a DC brush-style motor and a reduction gear set to actuate the shift drum. Over time, the factory lubricant within the gear housing thickens, increasing mechanical drag beyond the ECU's allowable amperage window. This results in a 'failed shift' state and a dash error because the motor cannot physically overcome the friction to complete the rotation within the required millisecond timeframe.

Gear Position (Angle) Sensor

This sensor serves as the primary feedback mechanism for the clutch actuator's position. Mechanical vibration and heat cycling can cause the internal wiper arm to lose consistent contact with the resistive track, creating 'dead spots' in the signal. When the ECU receives a signal that does not correlate with the expected actuator movement, it defaults to an error state to prevent transmission damage.

DCT Oil Filter Kit

The DCT system relies on hydraulic pressure for clutch engagement; if the dedicated DCT filter becomes restricted by clutch plate wear material or fluid oxidation byproducts, the pressure drop across the filter results in sluggish clutch response. The actuator timing then falls out of sync with the hydraulic engagement, triggering a logic error in the transmission control module.
