Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) / Sensor Unit
The TPS is the primary electronic component responsible for signaling the ECU to provide the correct fuel-to-air ratio at small throttle openings. If the sensor develops a dead spot or provides a low voltage signal at idle, the resulting lean condition causes the engine to 'flame out' as the combustion pressure is insufficient to overcome the high compression of the 450cc piston at low speeds.
