Steering Damper
The steering damper uses a pressurized internal oil chamber and a piston with calibrated orifices to control the rate of steering lever movement. Mechanical failure occurs when the rod seals perish, allowing the fluid to leak out; without this viscous resistance, the mower becomes difficult to track straight and the levers feel 'loose' or 'floppy.'
