12V DC Submersible Cooling Pump
The pump uses a low-torque magnetic drive impeller that is easily seized by biological film or hair. Once an obstruction enters the volute, the motor stalls; without the cooling effect of the circulating fluid, the internal windings undergo thermal breakdown. Replacing the entire sealed pump unit is necessary as the motor integrity is compromised during a prolonged stall condition.

Replacement Impeller and Shaft Kit
If the motor is still humming but not moving, the ceramic or stainless steel shaft may have snapped due to the torque spike during the clog. Replacing the magnetic rotor and shaft restores the mechanical link required to move fluid through the fermenter's cooling jacket.

Stainless Steel Hop Spider / Filter
This is the primary preventative component. By sequestering particulate matter during the boil, it prevents 'muddy' wort from carrying debris into the cooling lines that eventually lodge in the small-diameter pump intake.
