Black Lid Ribbon Cable

The 'Lid Open' false positive is the hallmark symptom of fatigue-induced failure in the Black Lid Ribbon Cable. Repeated mechanical articulation of the lid causes the internal conductive traces to fracture, interrupting the continuity of the lid-state circuit. Replacing this cable restores the signal path from the lid's magnetic sensors to the controller.

Left LED Strip with Sensor

In certain revisions of the Plus model, the lid-sensing logic is integrated into the LED strip assemblies. If the magnetic sensor on the strip itself fails or the adhesive holding the strip in its precise alignment migrates, the sensor will fail to register the lid's proximity, triggering a false positive error.

Chassis Magnets

The system relies on neodymium magnets to actuate the internal sensors. If these magnets have shifted due to adhesive failure or have been demagnetized by heat or impact, the sensor will remain in an 'open' logic state despite the lid being closed.
