Articulated Mullion Assembly

This vertical flapper contains an internal heating element designed to prevent condensation at the door junction. A failure in the heater's continuity or a mechanical failure of the flapper's hinge prevents the surface from reaching the necessary temperature to stay above the dew point, resulting in localized sweating.

Refrigerator Door Gasket

If the magnetic strip within the gasket loses its pull or the vinyl becomes deformed, cold air bypasses the seal. This creates a 'cold spot' on the exterior portion of the gasket where ambient moisture precipitates into water droplets upon contact with the chilled surface.

Mullion Spring

The spring facilitates the mechanical rotation of the mullion flapper. If the spring is broken or displaced, the mullion may not sit flush against the cabinet or the opposite door, causing a gap that allows heavy frost and condensation to form along the vertical seal area.
