Drain Pump Assembly
The drain pump utilizes a permanent magnet synchronous motor that can fail mechanically if the internal bearings wear or if the impeller becomes decoupled from the motor shaft. When this occurs, the pump may hum but will lack the centrifugal force necessary to overcome the head pressure of the drain hose. This is the primary mechanical failure point for the GDT series fluid evacuation system.

Drain Check Valve
This rubber flapper valve prevents wastewater from backflowing into the dishwasher tub after a cycle. Over time, organic debris or hard water deposits can cause the valve to stick in the closed position or lose its elasticity, creating a physical bottleneck that the low-torque drain pump cannot bypass.

Drain Hose
While durable, the corrugated geometry of the drain hose is susceptible to internal 'fat-bergs' or food sediment accumulation at the highest point of the loop or the connection to the sink plumbing. A partial or total blockage here increases the hydraulic resistance beyond the operational parameters of the pump motor.
