Handle Safety Interlock Microswitch

The mower utilizes a series of limit switches in the handle telescoping and folding joints to ensure the unit is in a safe operating position. Fatigue in the switch housing or oxidation of the contacts prevents the control board from receiving the 'closed' signal, resulting in a total failure to initialize the blade motor despite a fully charged battery.

Rear Drive Wheel Internal Gear Set

The transfer of torque from the drive shaft to the wheels occurs through plastic spur gears and a pin-based clutch system. Contamination from grass clippings or impact-related misalignment causes the clutch pins to fail to retract, which results in the wheels locking up or the drive motor spinning without providing forward motion.
