Dyson V11 HEPA Filter

The pulsing sound is a diagnostic pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal triggered by the motor controller when it detects a drop in airflow. Over time, microscopic dust particles saturate the HEPA media, creating high resistance that washing cannot resolve. Replacing the filter restores the required airflow and clears the pressure sensor alert.

Dyson V11 Clear Bin Assembly

If the silicone gaskets at the bin inlet or the cyclone interface are warped or torn, air leaks cause turbulent pressure fluctuations. These fluctuations mimic a blockage to the internal sensor, triggering the pulsing protection mode. A new bin assembly ensures a hermetic seal, maintaining the pressure differential necessary for continuous motor operation.

When pulsing persists after filter replacement and clear-path verification, the root cause is typically a blockage lodged deep within the inner cyclone shroud or a failing pressure sensor on the main PCB. Since the cyclone assembly is ultrasonically welded and non-serviceable, the entire main body must be replaced to resolve internal airflow obstructions.
