Intermittent connectivity causes instantaneous voltage drops that crash the goggles' video processing unit while the battery indicator remains lit, resulting in a black screen.

Internal Display Flex Ribbon Cable

High-frequency MIPI signal transmission is highly sensitive to impedance changes. If the internal ribbon cables connecting the mainboard to the displays become unseated due to thermal cycling or impact, the screen will exhibit digital artifacts (glitching) followed by a total loss of image.

Core Logic Main Board

The video processing IC or power management controller on the main PCBA can fail due to overheating, especially during stationary high-power link usage. This results in the unit appearing to power on (LEDs active) but failing to initialize the display driver.
