The internal Battery Management System (BMS) has detected that the individual cell voltages have dropped below the safe recovery threshold or are too far out of balance to be equalized. Lithium-ion cells undergo irreversible chemical degradation when stored in a depleted state, and the BMS inhibits charging to prevent potential combustion. Because these packs utilize spot-welded interconnects and integrated safety circuitry, the battery pack is considered a non-serviceable assembly.
