Bean Hopper Assembly
The grinder circuit is controlled by a mechanical interlock switch at the base of the hopper. Plastic tabs on the hopper assembly must be fully intact and rotated into the lock position to engage this switch; if the tabs are sheared or chipped, the machine will not allow the grinder motor to pull current, rendering it non-functional.

Complete Grinder Motor Assembly
If the interlock is engaged but the unit remains silent, the internal DC motor may have suffered a thermal fuse failure or a winding burnout due to high-torque resistance caused by foreign debris (stones) in the burrs.
