The LCD screen acts as a digital shutter; a failure in the screen's logic board or a crack in the substrate prevents the liquid crystals from aligning to allow UV light through. This results in the resin seeing no UV energy even if the LEDs are firing. It is the primary consumable and most frequent cause of total exposure failure.

LCD Ribbon Cable (FPC)

The Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) cable transmits high-speed LVDS signals from the mainboard to the LCD. Thermal expansion and vibration during the Z-axis movement can cause the gold-plated pins to lose contact or develop micro-fractures, resulting in a loss of communication that prevents the screen from 'opening' for exposure.

UV LED Light Engine (COB Array)

If the LCD is functioning but no light is produced, the COB (Chip on Board) light source has likely suffered a thermal failure or a driver MOSFET has shorted. This component provides the raw 405nm energy required for the photo-polymerization process.
