AFS Replacement Spool (0.065-in)

The Automatic Feed System (AFS) utilizes centrifugal force to release line; however, friction-induced heat often causes 'line welding,' where the plastic string fuses to itself. This prevents the internal actuator from pulling the line through the exit eyelet. A fresh, factory-wound spool eliminates winding overlaps and thermal fusion points that stall the advancement mechanism.

Spool Cap Cover

The spool cap maintains the precise vertical clearance required for the centrifugal pawl to engage the spool's teeth. If the cap's locking tabs are worn or distorted by heat, the spool can shift axially, causing the indexing mechanism to skip or jam, which stops the line from advancing during motor startup.

Replacement Trimmer Head Assembly

If the internal AFS actuator lever or its return spring has snapped due to debris ingress or mechanical fatigue, the head can no longer toggle the spool release. Replacing the entire head assembly restores the mechanical linkage between the motor's rotational speed and the line release timing.
