Internal PWM Fan and Controller Assembly
In affected RMe units, the fan controller's PWM threshold for starting the fan is improperly tuned for the motor's electrical characteristics, causing a mechanical click as the motor attempts to spin from a dead stop. This is often exacerbated by the specific fluid dynamic bearing used in these units which requires a specific torque pulse to initiate rotation. Because the PSU is a sealed, high-voltage component, the entire assembly is the standard unit of replacement.
