Dual Run Capacitor
The run capacitor provides the essential phase-shifted current to the start winding of the fan motor. When the internal dielectric fluid or film degrades, the motor can no longer generate the magnetic torque required to initiate rotation. This is the most common electrical failure point in outdoor HVAC units due to exposure to high ambient temperatures.

Condensing Unit Contactor
The contactor acts as the primary electromechanical switch for the high-voltage circuit. If the 24V solenoid coil fails or the silver-plated contacts become excessively pitted or carbonized, the circuit to the fan motor remains open. This prevents electrical energy from reaching the motor even when the thermostat is calling for cooling.

Condenser Fan Motor
Mechanical failure occurs when the internal sleeve or ball bearings lose lubrication, leading to increased friction and eventual shaft seizure. Additionally, the copper windings can suffer from insulation breakdown (short to ground), which causes the internal thermal overload protector to trip, permanently disabling the motor's ability to spin.
