3-Way Solenoid Valve Assembly

This valve is the primary gatekeeper for water entering the group head. Over time, mineral deposits or heat-induced deformation of the internal rubber seals cause the plunger to stick in the closed position, preventing water from reaching the coffee puck even when the pump is audible. Replacing the solenoid restores the electromechanical actuation required to open the high-pressure fluid path.

Vibration Pump (Ulka EAX5)

The vibration pump uses a reciprocating piston to generate pressure. If the internal spring weakens or the check valve within the pump housing fails due to debris or wear, the pump will vibrate but fail to displace water at the required 9-15 bars of pressure. This results in no flow or extremely low flow through the group head and steam wand.

Flow Meter Assembly

The flow meter contains a small turbine that tracks water volume; if it becomes obstructed by scale or the internal magnetic sensor fails, the control board will not detect water movement. In many safety-programmed sequences, if the flow meter reports zero rotation, the machine will automatically terminate the pump cycle to prevent dry-firing the thermocoil, resulting in a 'no flow' symptom.
