Propane Regulator and Hose Assembly

The Excess Flow Valve (EFV) inside the regulator is a safety mechanism designed to restrict gas flow during a perceived leak. If the tank valve is opened too rapidly or if burner knobs are left in the 'on' position during startup, the pressure surge trips the EFV, preventing enough gas from reaching the burners to achieve ignition. Replacing the assembly ensures the internal bypass valve and diaphragm are functioning within OEM pressure specifications.
