AMS Internal Hub Unit

This unit acts as the 4-to-1 manifold where filament from all four AMS slots converges; wear on the internal plastic funnel or accumulation of debris prevents the filament from transitioning into the exit tube. It contains the Hall effect sensors and magnets that signal the motor to take over the feed; if these sensors fail or the magnets stick, the system will report a jam and retract repeatedly.

If the jam is occurring at the rear of the printer, this external buffer unit's internal spring-loaded slider is likely sticking. The mechanism must move freely to manage filament tension; if the slider binds or the PTFE tubes are not seated squarely, filament will snag on the internal junctions.
