Internal Water Pump

The water pump is the primary mechanical mover in the system. Over time, the internal diaphragm or impeller can seize due to mineral calcification from hard water or the motor windings can fail due to thermal fatigue from repeated operation. When this occurs, the pump cannot generate the head pressure required to move water from the reservoir through the heating block.

Solenoid Water Valve

This electromechanical component controls the flow of water into the mixing funnel. The valve's internal plunger is susceptible to sticking in the closed position if calcium deposits accumulate on the seat or if the electromagnetic coil fails. A stuck valve will completely block fluid passage even if the pump is functioning normally.

Internal Flow Meter

The flow meter measures the volume of water passing through the system via a small internal turbine. If the turbine is obstructed by debris or scale, it will fail to send pulses to the control board; many machines will then default to a 'safety stop' or fail to initiate the dispensing cycle to prevent incorrect formula ratios.
