Mainboard (System Board)
The Embedded Controller (EC) on the motherboard is responsible for the ACPI power-state transitions of the secondary OLED panel. A logic hang or a blown power-gate MOSFET on the 12V/5V secondary display rail will prevent the panel from initializing even if the OS detects the hardware. Replacing the mainboard resolves the root cause of power-sequencing failures and firmware-level display-bridge issues.

Secondary eDP Display Cable
This internal ribbon cable carries the high-speed differential signaling and power to the secondary panel through the hinge assembly. Repeated articulation of the 180-degree hinge can cause mechanical fatigue of the copper traces, leading to a loss of the 'HPD' (Hot Plug Detect) signal. Without this signal, the GPU will not transmit video data to the secondary screen, resulting in a black display.

Secondary OLED Panel Assembly
The internal Timing Controller (TCON) is integrated into the OLED panel's driver-on-film (DOF) structure. If the TCON experiences a localized short or failure in its voltage-regulator-module (VRM), the screen cannot refresh the organic LED matrix. Replacing the full 14-inch panel assembly ensures the integrated driver electronics and the matrix itself are functional.
