Touchpad Assembly with Integrated NumberPad
The NumberPad is a laminated assembly where a secondary capacitive grid and LED array are integrated into the touchpad module. A failure of the specific top-right regional sensor prevents the controller from receiving the 'long-press' signal required to switch the HID report from relative (cursor) to absolute (numeric) coordinates. Replacing the entire assembly is necessary as the capacitive layers are not individually serviceable.
