The most common cause for a 'stuck' spotlight is a logic latch-up in the camera's firmware. Removing and reseating the battery forces a hard Power-On-Reset (POR) of the MCU and the LED driver circuit, clearing any volatile memory errors or hung GPIO states that are preventing the light-off command from executing.

If the spotlight remains illuminated even after a factory reset, the failure mode is likely a hardware short within the flexible printed circuit (FPC). A physical breach in the insulation or a failure of the switching transistor (MOSFET) can create a permanent electrical bridge, allowing current to flow to the LEDs continuously without logic gate regulation.
