Build Platform Assembly

The M5s utilizes a unique floating build plate with internal springs to achieve passive leveling. If resin or debris enters the internal spring housing and cures, or if the mounting joint seizes, the plate loses its ability to tilt and conform to the screen plane, effectively breaking the 'leveling-free' mechanism.

Mechanical Detection Module

This is the pressure-sensitive sensor located within the Z-axis cantilever that detects when the build plate makes contact with the LCD. If the sensor fails or loses calibration, the printer cannot determine the physical resistance required to set the Z-zero position, leading to leveling monitoring errors.

ACF Release Film

The high-speed ACF film must maintain specific tension to interact correctly with the auto-leveling sensor. If the film is loose, deformed, or has lost its structural integrity, the pressure feedback provided to the mechanical sensor during the homing sequence will be inconsistent, resulting in an unlevel print surface.
