Shift Actuator

This component is responsible for physically shifting the washer from agitation to spin mode. It contains an optical tachometer sensor that monitors the basket speed and position; if this sensor fails or the internal motor cannot move the splutch, the control board will hang the cycle indefinitely as a safety precaution, preventing the transition to the rinse and spin phases.

Lid Lock Assembly

The wash cycle cannot progress to high-speed spinning without a verified 'Locked' signal from this assembly. Over time, the internal solenoid or the plastic strike plate can fail, preventing the mechanical lock from engaging. Because the control board requires proof of a locked lid before energizing the drain pump and drive motor for spinning, the machine remains stuck at the end of the agitation phase.

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer completes the agitation phase but is waiting to fill for the rinse cycle, a failed solenoid in the water inlet valve will cause the unit to sit idle. If the valve cannot actuate to provide rinse water, the pressure switch never detects the required water level to trigger the next command in the timer sequence, resulting in a cycle that appears 'stuck'.
