Internal Lithium-Ion Battery Pack
Battery swelling is caused by electrolyte oxidation, which generates gas (outgassing) within the lithium-ion pouch. This occurs due to chemical degradation from high heat, age, or voltage stress. The resulting physical expansion exerts mechanical force on the device chassis, and the only resolution is the replacement of the degraded cell with a new OEM-spec battery pack.
